PdfCraft: Official Downloads and PDF Compatibility Checklist
Find Storytold’s PdfCraft, distinguish similarly named apps and plan a safe check of reading, page organization and saved PDF output.
The PdfCraft covered here is the ArtCraft/Storytold PDF workbench. Its official page links to storytold/pdfcraft. Search results also contain unrelated mobile and store apps with similar names; match the publisher and repository before downloading.
What the project offers
The official page describes local PDF reading, page organization, combining, extraction, splitting and security handling. It lists macOS, Windows, Linux and Web, with Launcher and standalone download paths. Those listings were checked October 31, 2026; choose the current platform-specific release from the project's own links.
The site describes the software as free and open source and says no account, cloud or telemetry is required. These are project statements, not a Varwo network-traffic audit. Check the repository's actual licence and dependencies for your intended redistribution.
Check your documents before switching
Use copies of a few representative PDFs. Include a scanned document, one with selectable text and, if relevant, one with forms or a password you are authorized to use.
- Confirm page order, fonts, search and text selection.
- Make one rotation or split, then save to a new file.
- Reopen the output in PdfCraft and a second reader.
- Check the features your workflow needs: forms, bookmarks, annotations and permissions.
A document opening successfully does not establish that every edit preserves every PDF feature. Keep the original until the saved output passes your own checks.
Varwo has not installed PdfCraft or tested its rendering, encryption or save behavior. For raster-image editing, use the separate PhotoCraft guide; the products serve different file tasks.
