ArtCraft
Worth testingWorth exploring when composition, character placement and camera blocking matter more than a text prompt alone.
Find the ArtCraft FilmCraft editor, choose its official launcher or standalone release, and plan a small compatibility check before switching projects.
FilmCraft is the nonlinear video editor in the ArtCraft app family. Its official product page links to the launcher, standalone downloads and Storytold repository. It is separate from the ArtCraft AI image/video studio; see our ArtCraft overview for that distinction.
The product page offers macOS, Windows and Linux builds, through either the ArtCraft Launcher or standalone packages. On the review date it listed FilmCraft 0.13.0, free, with checksums and release notes. Use the current product page to select the build for your operating system and architecture rather than a reposted installer.
The official feature list includes source/program monitors, timeline trimming, colour tools, keyframes and audio mixing. It also lists native codec work. Those descriptions establish what the developer advertises, not that every camera file or production workflow will behave identically to Premiere Pro.
Before moving a deadline project, use a copy of a short sequence you can inspect manually:
Keep the original media and project. Record which exact operation fails if a format or effect does not transfer. A successful export from one file is a useful local result, not evidence that every codec, plugin or project format is compatible.
Compare the work you need to finish: media import, timeline operations, effects, exchange formats and delivery. If you rely on a particular plugin or editable interchange, verify that separately before migrating. Familiar controls do not guarantee project-file round trips.

Check that a tool accepts the inputs you need before you pay.
