Is this the right project for your television?
The README identifies its repository and cleanyour.tv as official links. It specifically distinguishes similarly named domains and says it does not publish an app in an app store. Its website separately links a community Android-phone app.
| TV platform | Documented scope |
|---|---|
| Android TV or Google TV | Package cleanup and a replacement launcher |
| Fire TV | Limited package cleanup; the README describes launcher restrictions and exceptions |
| Samsung Tizen, LG webOS, Roku, Vizio or Hisense VIDAA | Not the Android cleanup route; use the project's non-Android guidance |
A brand name alone is insufficient: manufacturers sell different operating systems and models. A contributor's device list is a starting point, not our compatibility certification.
Understand the change before starting
The documented process records packages and settings, disables selected packages rather than uninstalling them, then installs a launcher. Its coding-assistant and manual routes are described under Quick start. Review the proposed package list against features you use, such as inputs, accessibility or a streaming application.
Keep the exact list and backup record for your own set. The project's restore documentation explains restoring package and home-screen state. We have not verified recovery on any device; do not substitute another model's record.
After a firmware update
The README explains that firmware updates can restore packages and the stock launcher or introduce new preloads. Recheck actual device state instead of assuming an old configuration still applies. The useful result is a home screen that works with your remote and required apps, together with a retained restoration route—not a count of disabled packages.
