Agent-Reach GitHub: Correct Repository and Setup Decisions
Find Panniantong/Agent-Reach, check its installation source, understand channel requirements and browser sessions, and plan a limited first evaluation.

Agent-Reach is a command-line tool that gives an AI agent access to search and reading tools across several platforms. The project identified in this guide is Panniantong/Agent-Reach. The repository name matters because search also returns forks and similarly named packages.
Documentation checked November 3, 2026. We have not installed Agent-Reach, imported a browser session or tested its platform connectors.
Use the project’s installation source
The installation guide explicitly says the PyPI package named agent-reach is not this project. Follow its GitHub release installation route. The current guide uses uv, then a setup step that enables default channels and installs an agent skill. It treats an older installation as an upgrade case rather than a clean install.
Before asking an agent to set it up, decide which machine and which channels you intend to use. Read the current installer instructions and the proposed changes. Adding a tool is a separate decision from granting it access to an existing account.
Check requirements per channel
According to the README, defaults include web, GitHub, YouTube, Bilibili and V2EX. Other channels are optional or experimental. Some features need login, and speech transcription may need a separate provider key. Its MIT software license and no-API-fee headline do not establish that every dependency, proxy or model call will be free.
| Need | What to verify before enabling it |
|---|---|
| Public repository or webpage reading | The exact channel and supported read action |
| Captions or transcription | Caption availability, account needs and any transcription provider |
| An account-dependent platform | Which account will be used and whether that access is allowed |
| A stable recurring workflow | Current channel status and how errors are reported |
Understand the browser session boundary
The session reference describes a dedicated browser profile. When its documented extension connection is available, it can copy a particular site’s existing login into that profile. It says it does not copy the full browser profile or password store. That behavior still involves account access: identify the intended account before enabling it and keep authentication material out of chat logs.
For a first evaluation, use one public URL with a known answer. Check the returned title, source and content against the original. Record which channel worked and any limitation; do not infer support for every platform from one success. This is a proposed evaluation, not a test we performed. FreeLLMAPI addresses a different need: routing model requests rather than reading websites.
