Qwen 3.6: Open Models, API Access and Local Choices

Qwen3.6 covers more than one model and access route. Start with the exact model card for downloadable weights, or the provider documentation for a hosted Plus endpoint.

The official collection lists original and FP8 variants. The two linked base model cards identify image-and-text input support and Apache-2.0 licensing. Keep the license and configuration of the file you actually choose; the family name alone is not a deployment specification.

Local model size is not a memory guarantee

Ollama lists different packages and sizes. A package's download size is not a promise about total RAM or accelerator memory at your selected context length. Runtime overhead, precision and simultaneous requests also matter. We have not established a minimum-memory recommendation for your hardware.

Plan a small comparison

Use one representative task, a fixed source document or repository and explicit correctness checks. Record the exact model identifier, runtime, quantization, context setting and output limit before comparing responses. Test image understanding separately if that is part of your task.

The proposed comparison is untested. Neither publisher scores nor a model's parameter label establishes your latency, coding accuracy or operating cost. API prices are intentionally not quoted here because a specific provider billing route was not verified. For hardware-chart interpretation, see the existing MaixStation evidence guide.
