Find the exact GPT-6 Astra API model, standard token rates and long-context adjustments, while separating API billing from ChatGPT access.
GPT-6 Astra is identified in official OpenAI documentation as gpt-6-astra, intended for demanding reasoning, coding, research and computer-use work. “GPT 6 Astra” and “GPT-6 Astra” here refer to the same model, not separate products.
The model page lists a 1,050,000-token context window, 128,000 maximum output tokens, text input/output and image input. It lists reasoning effort from low through max. Tool capabilities and account limits still need checking in the API route you select; a model name alone does not configure an agent's tools.
The reviewed model page lists $10 input and $50 output per million tokens, with $1 cached input and $12.50 cache writes. For prompts above 272K input tokens it describes doubled input/cache rates and 1.5× output rates for the full request. Batch/Flex and Fast modes use different rates; use the official pricing table for the selected mode and additional fees.
An API token price is not a ChatGPT subscription price or a guarantee of access in every application. Check your account's available models and limits before planning a deployment.
Define a result you can inspect, then compare the same input and acceptance criteria with your current model. Count corrections and total cost to finish the task. A demanding model may be useful for difficult work, but its position in a product range does not establish a benefit for every small operation.
Official documentation checked October 30, 2026. Varwo has not made paid Astra requests or reproduced benchmarks for this page. For general product context, see ChatGPT.
The OpenAI model catalog reviewed on November 4, 2026 lists GPT-6 Astra (gpt-6-astra) and GPT-6.1 Sol (gpt-6.1-sol) as distinct names. We did not find an official listing for a model named GPT-6.1 Astra in that catalog. This does not establish that an unannounced version was cancelled or why; treat those claims as unverified. Check the actual model identifier available in your account before comparing or purchasing.
The OpenAI model catalog, checked November 5, 2026, lists GPT-6 Astra and GPT-6.1 Sol separately. It did not list a model named GPT-6.2 Astra at that time. Search results and rumours do not establish an announced release date, performance or price; verify the exact model ID in official documentation and your account.
The complete OpenAI API model catalog, checked November 7, 2026, did not list a GPT-6.2 text model. It did list GPT-6 Astra and GPT-6.1 Sol, and separately listed GPT Image 2.6 image models. Similar numbers do not make those the same product; check the exact model identifier and current official listing before assuming availability or pricing.
Check that a tool accepts the inputs you need before you pay.
