Claude Duet: Access, Waitlist and Connected Apps

Check Claude Duet’s US research-preview requirements, invitation process and connected-app behavior before expecting access.

GUIDE · SOURCES REVIEWED

Claude Duet is a messaging-style Claude research preview that can work with connected applications. Anthropic's getting-started article says initial access requires a US Claude account, Pro or Max plan, and a waitlist invitation. It is not yet available to Team or Enterprise accounts in that reviewed guidance.

If you cannot access it

Check the plan, country eligibility and email address used for the waitlist. Invitations arrive in waves; joining does not guarantee an access date. Follow the invitation's setup route and keep the account identity consistent across the required sign-ins. A public app-store listing alone is not an invitation.

The help article describes a persistent main conversation, separate topic channels, cloud-based work and a Tasks tab. Finished deliverables appear in Make. It says Duet is designed to ask before consequential actions such as sending messages, payments, signing and deletion. Review the actual proposed action; a product description is not evidence that a particular task succeeded.

Choose a first task

Start with a reviewable result: a draft, a cited research brief or a summary from one connected source. Give it a concrete outcome and inspect the returned file or source references.

Before connecting more apps, identify which account and information each connection exposes. Anthropic says disconnecting an app stops future access but does not erase memory of earlier conversations. Access control and retained conversation information are different things.

Duet versus a model name

Duet is an application/workflow, not a synonym for an API model. A model API subscription does not establish Duet eligibility, and the preview uses the Claude account's plan limits. For the ordinary product context, see Claude.

Official guidance checked October 30, 2026. Varwo has not joined the waitlist, received an invitation or tested connected-app actions. Availability may change during the research preview.
